A power converter will allow you to safely and efficiently convert your camper's electrical system from the 120-volt AC shoreline power to the 12-volt DC battery power. To ensure your safety and get the most out of your power converter, it's essential to understand how to wire it correctly.

The first step to wiring your power converter is to identify which type of power converter you have. The majority of campers are fitted with a 30-amp power converter, but some may have a 50-amp power converter. Once you have identified the type of converter you have, you will need to connect the shoreline power cable to the power converter. Finally, you'll need to connect the power converter to the camper's electrical panel. This connection should be made to the power converter's 120-volt receptacle. Once connected, you can then use the switches on the power converter to turn on and off the power to the camper's electrical system.
